   I led ITC Infotech product teams in following initiatives Development of Apache Spark based recommendation engine for retail stores. The product uses Spark\'s in-built ALS algorithm to recommend retail goods to a customer based on his/her basket over a time horizon. The back-end code was written in Python and a full-stack engine was built using REST services with a User Interface built on HTML and angular JS. Development of a complete Image Processing suite for classification of tobacco leaves based on visible features as color, uniformity and ripeness and a set of derived statistical features. We used convolutional neural network (CNN) based approaches to solve the tobacco leaf classification problem. We thus removed manual intervention in classifying and pricing tobacco leaves and this translated into $10M annual savings for India Leaf Tobacco Division (ILTD), a division of ITC that exports processed tobacco leaves.
