ABOUT SARBANI MITRA

Prof.(Dr.) Sarbani Mitra did her graduation with Mathematics Honours from Calcutta University. She pursued MBA from Calcutta University with specialization in Marketing Management. She has received her Ph.D. Degree in Business Administration from the Department of Business Administration under the Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Management, University of Kalyani. Currently she is working as Professor & Head, Department of MBA-HRM. Earlier, she has headed Department of Executive Management (EPGPM); Department of Fire Safety Management (ADFSM) and Department of Supply Chain & Logistics Management (PGDSC & LM). She is also Faculty Member of the Department of Environment Management, Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), the first Management Institute of the country. Dr. Mitra is actively engaged in teaching on various dimensions of environmental, social as well as marketing studies. She has about 20 years of research and teaching experience in the field of Environment, Social and Safety Management. She has been empaneled as Ph.D. Guide in Public Systems, Social Welfare and Management under University of Calcutta at IISWBM. She has also been empaneled as Ph.D. Guide in Business Management, Department of Business Management and Commerce, Department of Commerce under University of Calcutta. She is currently guiding eight (8) Ph.D. scholars of University of Calcutta. Two (2) Ph.D. scholars have been awarded under University of Calcutta under her supervision. Four (4) students have successfully completed M.Phil in Management under University of Calcutta under her supervision. In her career, she has organised more than 35 MDPs for industrial engineers/employees of various public and private enterprises viz, Steel Authority of India Limited, Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited, CESC, Tata Steel, Indian Oil Management Academy, NTPC, various Thermal Power Stations of WBPDCL (Sagardighi, Santadih, Bandel, Bakreswar, Sagardighi, Kolaghat), NHPC Limited, Mitra S K Private Limited, Castrol India Limited, ESAB India Limited, Ispat Industries Limited - Dolvi, Mumbai on Safety, Health and Environment; Environmental Pollution Control and Management; Sustainability/Triple Bottom Line Reporting/Disclosure Practices; Environment, Social and Corporate Governance; Risk Analysis & Disaster Management; Awareness on Corporate Social Responsibility; Land Acquisition Issues and R&R; General Management; etc.
