About Sara Thein
As the Manager of KC-46 Regulatory Administration and Airworthiness at Boeing, I lead a team of employees that liaise with the FAA to provide certification guidance, direction, and support to the KC-46 Tanker program, a vital mission for national defense and global security. I have over a decade of experience in the aerospace industry working in design, certification, and testing of various aircraft programs and platforms, specifically Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft (including the Presidential Airplane and the KC-46), as well as working in Flight Operations at Alaska Airlines.I am motivated by my persistent optimism and belief that no problem is too difficult to solve. I excel at gathering and visualizing data to effectively communicate status and direct strategy and am passionate about operational efficiency. My ability to conceptualize problems at a high level helps me to clear obstacles well in advance of them becoming problems by seeking to understand how systems interact. I am also a graduate of the Alaska Airlines Developing Emerging Leaders Program, a selective and immersive leadership development program, and have completed Boeing’s “Leading People and Teams” training program for first line managers.
