ABOUT SARA SKIRDA

Hi there, my name is Sara and I am a senior Digital Matte Painter currently working for Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver, BC.Previously, I worked at Digital Domain on a few high profile films after working at Dneg Vancouver for upwards of 3.5 years. There I completed award-winning projects like Dune: Part 2 and seasons 1 & 2 of The Last Of Us, amongst a variety of other projects.Before that, I spent a lot of 2021 working in the Environment department at Digital Domain. Prior to that, I spent two and a half years working at Crafty Apes Vancouver (previously known as CVD VFX) where I developed a solid understanding of 2 + 2.5 D DMP workflows, as well as some compositing skills on the side. I graduated from the Digital Visual Effects program at Capilano University, specializing in Matte Painting and Environments. Previously, I studied traditional art at Langara as part of the Fine Arts Program.I have always loved the arts, from drawing and painting, to dance, photography and film making. I am stoked to be a part of such a creative, fast-paced industry where I am constantly able to learn and grow.Don\'t be afraid to say hi - I love to meet new people!
