ABOUT SARA PASSMORE
I’m a doctorial candidate at Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington. My research is exploring what happens in community organisations when they partner with Government to deliver social services.I have 20+ years\' experience in project and programme management, and 10+ years\' experience in Senior Management in the charity and not-for-profit sector. I am currently working in the public sector.In 2018 I completed a Masters of Business Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. My research area focused on how to support Māori to maintain their legal connection to the whenua across generations. I also have a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of English Literature.I’m Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a member of the Royal Society of New Zealand, as well as an accomplished public speaker. I’ve organised, as well as chaired, numerous conferences and events, including international festivals and conferences.My current governance roles include Chair of Wellington HELP, a not-for-profit organisation that provides specialised support for people affected by sexual violence; treasurer of Humanists NZ, a charity that campaigns for human rights internationally; secretary for the Guild of Agriculture Journalists and Communicators, a professional members’ association for those working with a focus on agriculture; and president of the Rationalist and Humanist Association of New Zealand.
