About Saranya Loehrer
Saranya helps organizations create better health outcomes, greater joy in work, and a more just society. Leveraging her expertise in health care, quality improvement, and grassroots organizations, she helps organizations accelerate their progress with curiosity, creativity, and courage. She is a change maker, movement builder, and (mostly metaphorical) rule breaker. Most recently, Saranya served as the inaugural Chief Patient Experience and Health Equity Officer at Teladoc Health, a global virtual care company with 90 million members from D2C to B2B health plan, employer, and health system clients. She is a co-founder of the Civic Health Alliance, a national organization of health professionals promoting civic engagement in care settings and communities. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at OCHIN, which provides tech enabled solutions to community health centers and critical access hospitals across the United States. Closer to home, Saranya serves on the Board of Willing Hands, a New Hampshire/Vermont based nonprofit that leverages community volunteers to grow, glean, recover, and distribute approximately 1 million pounds of nourishing food annually to neighbors in need. Previously, Saranya spent over a decade leading large scale health care transformation efforts at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and served as a System Vice President and the inaugural Health Equity Officer at one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the United States. She also worked for the Nobel Peace Prize winning organization Physicians for Human Rights, helping health professionals translate their expertise into scientifically sound health policy.Saranya received her MD from Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine, where she was also an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. She received her MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health while serving as a Zuckerman Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School\'s Center for Public Leadership. Saranya has been recognized by Rock Health as a Top 50 in Digital Health Honoree and by the American Medical Women\'s Association as an Inspire Awardee.
