ABOUT SARANSH GUPTA

I am a Senior User Researcher at DWP Digital, with over 8 years of experience in applying human factors and user research methods to solve complex problems and improve public services. I have a cross-cultural background and a growth mindset, and I am passionate about evidence-based storytelling and user-centred design.Currently, I am leading user research for the Labour Market Portfolio, which includes government initiatives such as Restart, aimed at helping people unemployed due to COVID-19 access Universal Credit and find sustainable work. I am also driving international collaborations to explore early intervention models focused on unemployment prevention and to use technologies such as AI to identify and empower people who can seek work themselves. Additionally, I have led user research for HM Treasury\'s £2M funded Job matching pilot and for understanding the barriers experienced by an unemployed person in their journey into work. In my previous roles, I have supported research strategy and built consensus across researchers and stakeholders, and collaborated with cross-functional teams of designers, product managers, engineers and content strategists to improve the product experience for the users. I use quantitative data to inform my qualitative research efforts and communicate my findings by narrating compelling stories through written, in-person, or visual presentations that make an impact and influence change.Current interests include - creating portfolio research repositories; integrating COM-B model and user needs; defining outcomes; strategic user research; psychological safety in teams.Drop me a message if you’d like to chat about any of this :)
