My current position is a Materials Knowledge Exchange Associate in the Welding and Additive Materials theme of the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) within the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), operated by the University of Strathclyde. This position has offered me a valuable opportunity to involve in a wide range of rotary friction welding projects funded by industrial partners. These projects have challenging work packages to achieve high-quality solid-state joining solutions equipped with a wide range of instrumentation at an industrial scale. I also had an opportunity to work on a collaborative research and design project, where I provided high-level materials and manufacturing process selection support to design a novel magnetic valve for safe operation in engineering service environments.
