ABOUT SARA-MAYA KABA
Sara-Maya Kaba is a Canadian-Pakistani educator and multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges dance, poetry, spoken word, and song. She specializes in creating arts-based programs that support youth in developing emotional literacy, building confidence, and fostering connection through creative expression.As a Pathy Foundation Fellow, she founded Aawaaz, an arts-based mental health initiative delivered across slum schools and low-income communities in Islamabad, Hunza, Chitral, and Karachi. She also led Pakistan’s first ringette-based mental health program, engaging 30+ young athletes in winter sport, mental health training, and positive youth development. Her programs have reached over 450 students, educators, and caregivers, including participants from Aga Khan University, Kiran Foundation, and Right to Play.Sara-Maya is the co-founder of The Fourth Space, a nonprofit focused on youth development through the arts, sports, and mental health education. She currently works as a teaching artist with Jubilee School and a guest educator with both the Calgary Board of Education and Foundations for the Future Charter Academy. She has served as a curriculum consultant for the Institute of Ismaili Studies, and brings experience teaching and facilitating across Canada, Mexico, the UK, and Pakistan.A TEDx speaker and former fellow at the University of Central Asia, she has designed and delivered international internships, residential youth programs, and trauma-informed workshops focused on adolescent well-being.
