About Sara Scully
Sara is a litigation associate at Norton Rose Fulbright\'s Dallas office, where she manages complex, high-stakes disputes involving contracts, business torts, and intellectual property. She has represented clients across a wide range of industries, including EdTech, healthcare, alcohol distribution, telecommunications, commemorative goods, and construction. Outside her commercial practice, Sara contributes her trial skills by assisting criminal defense attorneys with representation through trial. Prior to joining the firm, Sara clerked for the Honorable Nelva Gonzales Ramos, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.Sara graduated Order of the Coif and magna cum laude from SMU Dedman School, courtesy of the Barrett Scholarship. During her first year of law school, the Jackson Walker Moot Court Competition nominated her for best brief and awarded her the best oral advocate in round. After her first year, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Stacey Jernigan, as well as a Teacher’s Assistant for the (1) Research & Writing Program and (2) Federal Judicial Externship course. After joining the SMU Law Review Association, her peers selected her to join the Executive Board as Managing Editor of the Journal of Air Law & Commerce. She also assisted research for Joanna Grossman (reproductive rights), Eric Ruben (Second Amendment), and the Deason Criminal Justice Reform Center. She spent her summers clerking with Ottobock (Austin) and Norton Rose Fulbright (Dallas). Prior to SMU, Sara spent a year in Taiwan on a Fulbright scholarship, working as an elementary school English teacher and studying Mandarin. Before that, she spent two years as a kids ski instructor (Beaver Creek, CO) and camp counselor (Burnet, TX). For two years after college, Sara managed projects for KSMC’s data analytics team. Her work with the State of Indiana included facilitating a pioneer data-sharing effort to address issues such as infant mortality, criminal recidivism, and tax fraud. Sara graduated from DePauw University with honors and a degree in philosophy. At DePauw, she was Student Body President and Team Captain of DePauw\'s national championship winning (2013) Ethics Bowl team. She also loves working with kids and spent 11 summers as a counselor and staff director at Camp Longhorn. Campers voted Sara as their \"Favorite Counselor\" in 2011. Before DePauw, Sara was a Principal Dancer in the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, and Student Body President at the Parish Episcopal School.
