About Sarah Sugarman
Hello! My name is Sarah and I have 14+ years of experience working as a designer. I received my BFA - with honors - from the School of Design at The Rochester Institute of Technology with a minor in Japanese language and culture. I began my design career as a visual designer for a creative agency straight out of college where I worked with high profile clients such as Volkswagen, Sheetz, Kroger and William Grant and Sons. It was there I learned how to hone my creative skills to create visually beautiful designs that met client needs, to confidently present my work to stakeholders and how to collaborate with developers. As the field changed, I switched gears from visual designer to web designer to now a full fledged Product Designer focusing on UI/UX and design systems. We are in an age where we\'re consuming media on a digital screen daily and believe the experience should be accessible to everyone while also being visually appealing to the eye. In addition to design, I\'m deeply passionate about mentoring teammates in the work place, improving work flow processes and building strong work relationships with developers. Producing a successful product is more than a two-way street so I seek cross team collaboration no matter what problem is given to me.When I\'m not designing, you can find me photographing people from around the world in costumes they\'ve made from scratch, looking for the next hot food spot in the DMV, asking to pet people\'s dogs and mentally planning when the next trip to Japan will be.
