Riley Hospital for Children became the new home to IU Health\'s Inpatient Child and Adolescent Unit in November of 2016. I was first hired on to assist in the transition of behavioral healthcare over to Riley and aid in the development of unit curriculum for the adolescent population.Key Responsibilities and Achievements: Oriented to perform all duties of a registered nurse including medication administration, medical and psychiatric assessments, admissions, discharges and patient care plans. Received additional training specific to mental health care, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and crisis prevention. Collaborate with doctors, social workers, psychiatric nursing assistants, nurses, child life therapists, school teachers and psychologists to develop unit programming and lead individual and group therapy activities.
