1. Senior Tour Leader

   BBYO

   Jan 2022 — Present · Washington, DC, US

   BBYO is the largest pluralistic Jewish youth organization. Directed tour groups to National Parks and big cities throughout the Western USA, at the International Convention in Orlando (which was also the 100th celebration of the organization) as well as to countries in Europe with middle and high schoolers, coordinating all logistics and sightseeing activities. Ensured the safety and well-being of 44 teenagers and 4 staff traveling throughout the North America trip and 65 teens to Europe with 8 staff. Led interactive programs as an educator, community service programs, created discussions appropriate to locations being toured and Shabbat activities. Encourage teens to reflect, and determine how to take what they have learned home with them and become the leaders of tomorrow. Collaborate with fellow group leaders, bus drivers, tour operators, hotel staff, airport staff, national park staff, and destination staff ensuring a safe, successful program for our participants.• Communicate with parents on health-related matters example- when a teen goes to a hospital or clinic, allergies • Respond to parent inquiries via phone and email • Ensure supplies were ready at the start of the trip including medicines, Shabbat materials, bus games, surprises for teens, creating rooming assignments in advance• Communicate about logistical changes on the trip • Create incident reports and relay information to the appropriate staff• Assist as needed (ie. helping attend to sick teens, filling in for another staff member, lost luggage, etc.) • Ensure that the staff team is operating cohesively and making decisions on behalf of the staff team when necessary • Support with on-site logistics of the trip including but not limited to arrival procedures, hotels, meals, itineraries, travel, rooming management, etc.• Chaperone group flights• Make personal connections and answer questions before programs• Capture group photos and write bi-weekly updates for participant families
