Putnam County CERT provides highly skilled volunteers during emergencies in support of the Putnam County Emergency response organizations.Putnam County CERT – Under the direction of Chief Sarah Owen, currently has 12 active units managed by 4 Deputy Chiefs. Units include – Administration, EOC management, Communications, Transportation, Search and Rescue, Fire and Haz-Mat, Public health/Medical, Sheltering, Property Damage Assessment, Public Safety, Outreach/Recruiting, and Public Engagement. CERT operates under the authority of the Department of Homeland Security but is locally directed, and self-funded. PC CERT is completely staffed by your friends and neighbors.
