About Sarah Filman
The most meaningful recognition I’ve ever received as a leader was the ‘Heart & Soul’ award. It was given in the context of a light-hearted annual awards ceremony where all of the other nominations were for things like ‘least likely to get a pop culture reference’ and ‘most likely to need to be dug out from underneath the pile of gadgets on their desk.’ To be suspended in a moment of sincere recognition for the impact I’ve had as a compassionate and people-first leader while also laughing until tears fell out of my eyes was a highlight of my (professional) life and one that I’ll always treasure. Whether showing up as a coach, facilitator, or people manager, I am known for bringing structure, strategy, heart, and humor to the people and teams I work with. I’m passionate about helping teams navigate differences in priorities, values, and perspectives with empathy and I\'m skilled at solving complex challenges in both small and large organizations. I do this by focusing on authentic relationship building, developing shared processes, not being afraid to ask why, and inserting strategically placed puns. I\'m passionate about exploring how play and improv can help us practice the antidotes to white supremacy culture. Practicing sitting in discomfort, embracing mistakes, not knowing, accepting and building on what others share, and listening deeply are crucial skills if we are to have the types of conversations we need to be having to undo racism.I\'d love to meet you and learn about what lights you up!
