About Sarah Howell
As the Director of Education at Baltimore SquashWise, I lead the academic enrichment and support for our student-athletes. With over 15 years of experience in science education, out-of-school programming, outreach, conservation and environmental programming, I am passionate about building equity and justice through science education, communication and authentic engagement. I have a MA in Global Environmental Policy and a MA in Teaching, and I am also a co-founder and director of The Anti-Bias Educator, where we help educators create anti-bias and anti-racist learning environments for students of all backgrounds and identities. My areas of research and expertise include communities and climate change, science communication and education, sustainable food systems and agriculture policy, and conservation and natural resources management. I am a strategic planner, problem-solver, and effective communicator, who is passionate about finding ways to educate others about complex, cross-disciplinary issues in easy-to-access ways.
