ABOUT SARAH CORDEIRO

I am currently an Associate Producer at NBC Sports Boston. I graduated from Marist College in 2014, with a degree in Communications and a concentration in Sports Communication along with a minor in Political Science. During my time at Marist I interned at the Marist Center for Sports Communication. We worked on a weekly Saturday morning sports show on ESPN 1220 \"The Classroom.\" As an intern I helped to put the show together each week, we rotated roles between producer, sound, research, social media and guest relations. Each week we worked with the hosts to come up with the topics, discussed guests and handled the social media for the show. As a group we also produced \"The Marist Minute,\" which is a weekly look at Marist sports that goes out onto ESPN 1220 each Friday. Every week I worked with the other interns in conjunction with the Marist Athletics department to develop stories, interview coaches and players, and record this radio segment. I absolutely loved Marist and all that Poughkeepsie and Hudson River have to offer. During my junior year I was able to study abroad in London. I had the chance to take classes as well as intern in the city. I interned at Sports-Impact Ltd, a sports PR firm in the UK. During my time there I managed media coverage of our various clients, researched ongoing projects, helped to work on proposals and updated the social media pages. Spending the semester abroad was an amazing opportunity and I loved every second of it. I also worked as a receptionist at a doctor\'s office at home. This has helped me to work with many different kinds of people and authority. I have learned a lot and appreciate the opportunities that I have had.
