As Treasurer and Board member of USL, the commercial subsidiary of UCISA, I provide financial and strategic oversight to ensure the successful delivery of events, training, and commercial services that generate vital income to support UCISA’s charitable mission. I am responsible for overseeing financial governance, risk management, and compliance while ensuring that USL operates sustainably and continues to add value to the higher and further education digital community.Working closely with fellow Non-Executive Directors and the leadership team, I help shape USL’s strategy, ensuring that its events portfolio and commercial activities are financially robust, innovative, and responsive to sector needs. My role includes reviewing performance, advising on investment and growth opportunities, and ensuring that commercial success is aligned with UCISA’s wider goals.Key areas of contribution include:Providing financial stewardship and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.Supporting the development of new income streams to strengthen UCISA’s long-term sustainability.Guiding the strategic direction of USL’s event portfolio to maximise engagement and impact across the sector.This role allows me to combine financial governance with strategic insight to support UCISA’s broader mission, ensuring that USL remains a trusted and sustainable enabler of sector-wide knowledge sharing and professional development.
