About Sara Hazel

Hi, I\'m Sara Hazel (she/her/hers), a proud Colorado enthusiast, non-profit executive, and social justice advocate passionate about creating more equitable opportunities for women and youth. With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, I bring deep expertise in donor engagement, strategic partnerships, team culture, and mission-driven storytelling that drives real impact. Originally from Lawrence, Kansas (yes, I am a Kansas City BBQ snob and lifelong Jayhawk basketball fan), I made my way to the University of Oregon where I studied Sociology and Public Policy — and became a loyal Duck football supporter. I launched my nonprofit career in Chicago, where I also earned my Master’s in Public Administration from DePaul University.Today, I’m based in Colorado, where I continue to champion community-building initiatives and equity-centered fundraising strategies — all while exploring mountain trails, diving into good books, and staying connected to the people and causes that matter most.
