About Sarah Wolf
I am currently the Middle School Head at San Francisco Friends School, a K-8, co-ed, Quaker School in the Mission District of San Francisco. Most recently, I was the Middle School Dean of Academics and Student Life at Polytechnic School, an independent, co-ed, K-12 school located in Pasadena, CA. I helped re-vamp our faculty evaluation system, managed our middle school student programs, including advisory, served on the MS DEI Committee, oversaw the MS Department Chairs, and coached our 6-8th grade faculty. Previous to that, I was a Middle and Upper School English teacher at The Winsor School, an independent all-girls school in Boston, MA serving grades 5-12 and served as both interim Dean of Student Life and interim Grade Dean. Before joining Winsor, I was Dean of Student Life and a Middle and Upper School English teacher at Marlborough School, another independent all-girls school (grades 7-12), in Los Angeles. Prior to moving to LA, I taught Upper School English at Beaver Country Day School, a progressive independent school in Boston (co-ed, grades 6-12), where I also served as 10th Grade Dean. Before landing in Boston, I helped found an independent school in San Francisco called The Bay School of San Francisco (grades 9-12). The majority of my previous stint in San Francisco was spent working at Stanford University developing curricula for educational adventures. As Director of the Family Adventures program, I managed the Assistant Director, oversaw the educational programming, and developed, marketed, and sold educational travel experiences, mostly overseas.Specialties: Curriculum design, teaching, strategic planning, budget management, presentation for boards, parents, and student body, management skills. Teaching expertise: American Literature, Public Speaking, Classic Literature, Literature and history of the American West, & South African Literature.
