ABOUT SARAH WIDDOWFIELD

I’m the UK & Ireland Digital Hub Manager at Ramboll, with almost 25 years\' experience across multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy and the public sector. I lead on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within Ramboll\'s Environment & Health business in the UK, delivering geospatial solutions across sectors including environment, water, highways, rail, urban planning, nuclear and energy.I\'ve supported a wide range of high-profile projects for both public and private sector clients such as HS2, National Highways, BP and Network Rail. My work focuses on data management, GeoBIM and GIS analysis, underpinned by strong cartographic principles to ensure clear and effective outputs.I\'m a Chartered Geographer and Fellow of the British Cartographic Society, with a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Northumbria. I started my career in the Ministry of Defence as a Mapping and Charting Officer, then moved on to the Defence Geographic Centre as an Image Analyst. I later joined Defence Estates as a Geographic Information Officer in the Renewable Energy and Statutory Safeguarding Team.After five years in the public sector, I transitioned to consultancy and over the last 20 years I have built a strong reputation as a trusted GIS specialist, passionate about the role of digital to help shape sustainable, resilient and liveable societies.
