Simply Smiles is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing bright futures for impoverished children, their families, and their communities through homes, healthcare, and education. We are based in Southern Connecticut and serve remote communities of primarily Native peoples on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation in South Dakota, and in Oaxaca, Mexico. As a member of the board of directors for Simply Smiles, I engage in strategic decision-making to help shape the future of the organization. I also assist with fundraising and marketing activities, employment and human resources initiatives, and budgeting. In addition, each year I travel to our project locations to meet with staff, assist with volunteer projects, and to promote our initiatives on the ground. As a practicing attorney, I also advise the organization on a variety of legal matters relating to labor and employment, taxation and non-profit status, purchasing and lease agreements, and child protection.
