About Sarah Werneck Brown

Sarah is passionate about helping students find colleges that are a good academic, social, and financial fit for them and coaching them on how to present themselves in their best light in their college applications. She is especially interested in guiding students who are military dependents applying to military academies and/or ROTC scholarships homeschooled first-generation twice-exceptional As a veteran homeschool educator, she is very familiar with the tasks homeschool parents are required to complete in their role as their child\'s school counselor, and works with parents to create the high school transcript, course descriptions, school profile, and counselor recommendation letter. She has been a military spouse for 27 years and understands the unique challenges military dependents face when applying to college. Sarah is a lifelong learner and devotes a large portion of her time to researching colleges, keeping up with the constantly changing college admissions landscape, improving her essay coaching skills, and networking with college admissions professionals. She takes training, professionalism, and ethics very seriously. She has earned: a B.A. in Psychology from Swarthmore College an M.Ed. in School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill a graduate certificate in College Counseling from UCLA (with Distinction) board certification from the National Board for Certified Counselors membership in NACAC and IECA (professional level) She volunteers her time as a college coach to low-income/first-generation students.
