   I am a partner with the Employment, Labor, and ERISA practice groups, and one of the national leaders of the Firm\'s Cannabis, Hemp, and CBD practice group. I represent clients in Washington and Oregon and is Co-Managing Partner of the Seattle office. My employment litigation experience includes defending employers in matters involving claims for wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, invasion of privacy, defamation, and wage and hour claims that are filed in state and federal trial and appellate courts, and includes arbitrations before American Arbitration Association and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services. I also have significant experience representing clients before federal and state agencies including the National Labors Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, Washington\'s Labor & Industries, Human Rights Commission, Oregon\'s Bureau of Labor and Industries, and other state and local administrative agencies.In addition to defending employers in litigation I also counsel and train clients on a broad range of employment law issues, including advising employers on their requirements under the Affordable Cares Act and ERISA-related issues. I also draft and update personnel policies, employee handbooks, drug and alcohol policies, and employment agreements.As one of the national leaders of the Firm\'s Cannabis, Hemp & CBD practice group, I am active with educating attorneys, employers, and others affected by the legalization of cannabis. This includes providing guidance on state regulations, laws affecting the employer\'s workplace drug policies, and drafting drug & alcohol policies and testing guidelines. I also represent businesses and individuals in cannabis-related employment matters and contract and partnership disputes.
