About Sarah Tomkowiak

My practice focuses on complex business litigation and investigations, including internal investigations, enforcement actions and securities class actions. I represent public companies, directors and officers in securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative litigation, mergers and acquisitions litigation, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) investigations, and other high-stakes matters. I have extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including federal jury trial experience, briefing and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions, managing large-scale discovery, working with experts and jury consultants, coordinating with parallel government investigations, and negotiating favorable settlements in mediation. I also have experience conducting internal investigations of companies regarding their financial reporting, disclosures and internal control procedures. I am active in the ABA’s Class and Derivative Actions Subcommittee and the D.C. Women’s Bar Association.
