I am a partner based in the London pensions team at Eversheds Sutherland. I have been advising on pensions law issues for over 18 years and as a partner at Eversheds for the last 7 years. I have a client base comprising a broadly equal mix of trustees and employers that operate some of the largest occupational DB and DC pension schemes in the UK. Recent advice has covered: liability management exercises, trust deed and rule re-writes, transfers to DC master-trusts, advising trustees on material changes to covenant strength as well as day to day advice on administering pension schemes. I spent four years as an elected member of the Association of Pension Lawyers\' Legislative & Parliamentary Committee which meets once a month to review and comment on proposed new legislation. One highlight of my career was taking part in the Law Debenture debate in Westminster in 2017. Most recently, I have been helping to \"tutor\" pension trustees to pass the Level 3 PMI exams - something which all professional trustees are now being encouraged to take. Surprisingly this has been more fun than it sounds (for the candidates and for me!)
