ABOUT SARAH STAUDT

I focus on policy analysis and advocacy for systemic criminal legal system reform. After five years of experience as a criminal defense attorney for juveniles and adults in Chicago, I then worked on policy at the state level in Illinois, focusing particularly on the end of monetary bond, the establishment of medical parole, and the functioning of the criminal court system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, I work at Prison Policy Initiative on criminal legal system policy around the country by partnering with local advocacy groups to provide them advice and research support.
