ABOUT SARAH SMITH
I am a dedicated animal health, welfare and behaviour professional I have 20 years practical, academic and voluntary experience in animal management, veterinary nursing, zoo management and conservation. I have been part of the team of a multi award winning visitor attraction at Woburn Safari Park, specialising in conserving and breeding critically endangered species. I assisted in the management of the hooved stock team, ensuring all protocols were followed with regard to husbandry and cleaning, inspecting the health and welfare of the animals and delivering projects related to conservation objectives. I compared charity events, providing education to the general public and building relationships with external agencies, donors, sponsors and engaging with stakeholders at all levels. My proudest achievement to date is being a member of the team, which bred the largest genetically diverse herd of Rothschild Giraffe in the country.
