About Sarah Simba
Sarah is a high achiever, passionate about justice, women empowerment, peace and security, and development, with areas of interest including Foreign Policy, International Affairs, and Law. She plans to work and see peace, security, and stability in the affairs of this world. Before attending the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, Sarah worked with non-profit organizations in the U.S. and the DRC, her native country. She wants to spend her life being a resource to support communities around the globe to improve their livelihoods. She started her career as an agent of change as a youth-to-youth peer education officer in Kinshasa, DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo). As a young graduate and professional, she interned as a poverty assessment and financial market analysis researcher for Hope International in DRC. Through this task, she led a group of ten interns to assess how micro-loans improve livelihoods in Kinshasa. She later worked for HOPE DRC as a loan officer and executive assistant. She is also a Moremi Initiative Leadership Empowerment and Development Fellow in recognition among Africa’s most exceptional emerging women leaders. These experiences have sharpened, increased, and shaped her longing to expand her horizons to participate in our ever-changing, fast-paced world with positive and transformational change.
