Primary legal adviser for EMEA and Americas of global education company Pearson, managing a team of lawyers across the globe. My role is focused on identifying, managing and mitigating legal risk, providing legal strategy and oversight for the legal support for these markets and manage the local legal teams which provide day to day legal support. As the Compliance Officer for my region, I also regularly train large groups of colleagues on compliance matters such as anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, shifts and hospitality regulations, ethics and whistleblowing.Mentoring and professional development are two areas of particular interest for me and I am proud to have pioneered and set up ELEVATE, the Legal Function Mentoring Program at Pearson. In addition, I currently co-lead the ETHOS program which includes a variety of initiatives set up to shape the culture of our legal function such as a Wellbeing Programme, a Buddy Scheme and a Diversity and Inclusion Programme.Pearson PLC and group is the world\'s largest education business and a FTSE40 company with employees on six continents providing a range of education products and services to institutions, governments and individual learners around the world.It has a secondary listing on the New York Stock Exchange in the form of American Depository Receipts.
