ABOUT SARAH RABIL
I pride myself on the relationships I have built across newsrooms over almost two decades. As an editor, that trust has helped me drive ambitious reporting projects and breaking news. It also has allowed me to take on some of the most sensitive and important work, including as a standards & ethics editor and as the head of newsroom talent. My career has been defined by a commitment to accuracy, accountability and earning readers\' trust — from my early work as a media reporter and editor at Bloomberg News to senior roles at The Wall Street Journal. I am drawn to high-stakes, thorny stories and finding solutions to complex problems. As a standards editor at WSJ, I advised on coverage that won a Pulitzer Prize and SABEW award. For three years, I oversaw recruiting and career development for WSJ, and I’m proud of the successful pivot we made during the pandemic to fully remote internships and virtual hiring.I always make time to support up-and-coming journalists, and I relish opportunities to teach, mentor and learn. I serve on the board of the Overseas Press Club Foundation, a nonprofit that has helped launch the careers of countless international correspondents.
