I founded VeinTrain in 2007 to build a trusted global brand and become the first choice for the most commonly performed yet often poorly executed healthcare skills — venepuncture and cannulation.As a published author and national lead for competency standardisation, I recognised the need for a different approach: standardised, accessible, high-value, and quality-driven.By 2018, VeinTrain won a showcase award at WISH, Qatar, for our innovative clinical education solutions.We provide multi-platform training built on decades of experience and evidence-based practice, helping clinicians deliver the best care to patients. Our global community of leaders is passionate and enthusiastic about improving clinical skills.We work with organisations including Guy’s and St Thomas’, Nottinghamshire Healthcare, Central London Healthcare, BUPA, Spire, Allied Health, and Imperial.Key milestones:• 2002: Raised competency rates from 40% to 98%• 2011: Edited the first published book on venepuncture competency• 2013: Trained 200 nurses for NHS Direct across 3 skill sets• 2015: Delivered competency booklets over 10 years• 2015: Hosted National Train the Trainer Conference at Royal College of Surgeons, London• 2017: Launched vein simulators, secured first investor, and made first exports• 2018: WISH showcase, Qatar• 2020: Launched online skills labs in South Africa and UAE• 2021: Fully online service launched in Ireland with HALO programme• 2023: Platinum HALO centres established and NHS ICS contract secured in Zambia• 2024: Supporting 1400 care nurses across ICS with online skills labsIn 2025, I was honoured to be invited to the Royal Garden Party, recognising VeinTrain’s impact on healthcare innovation and clinical education.I’m passionate about expanding VeinTrain globally and welcome connections from those committed to transforming healthcare education.
