ABOUT SARAH NEWSOME

My love for project management comes from movies and parties. I went to undergraduate school for Film Studies and interned for a television station, Black Network Television. On student projects, I worked as a producer, and in my internship, I learned the role of talent manager. I ensured we had a schedule, everyone understood and followed the plan, and I adjusted things when necessary. In addition, I managed the paperwork and communication: contracts, budgets, talent pipeline, location coordination, and more. While in school, I was the Special Events Coordinator for my academic society, coordinating fundraising events, social dances, and alumni reunions. I conducted some projects solely; for others, I oversaw a team. These experiences led me to seek more career opportunities in project management. Working five years as a freelance executive assistant, I\'ve utilized project management skills while cultivating my written and oral communication with clients, time management skills, ability to work remotely, and attention to detail. I\'ve worked in entertainment, education, social impact, and corporate companies and startups. Who knows what\'s next?
