About Sarah Nerette
Highly motivated Sustainability Specialist with a strong desire to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future. I have a strong background in Civil Engineering and Sustainability Management, including Social Sustainability and Resilient Infrastructure. I strive to expand my knowledge of sustainable infrastructure, green building, and environmental sustainability and actively look for ways to combine those concepts with diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. I have experience designing and implementing sustainability programs for large commercial real estate portfolios within a variety of sectors including but not limited to hospitality, affordable housing and senior living. Within that, I have managed and tracked a company’s environmental performance data and interpreted performance trends to develop and implement strategies to drive decarbonization goals. I also have experience working with LEED, WELL Health and Safety, Fitwel, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, SFDR and GRESB. I am also committed to community engagement and fostering a more equitable, just and inclusive built environment. Throughout my career, I have helped develop programs and have worked with organizations that foster academic excellence, mentorship, leadership, and community service. I am dedicated to empowering youth and fostering awareness of sustainability in underserved communities. I believe in creating equitable access to environmental education and in showcasing the diverse career paths available within this field. By inspiring young people to explore sustainability as a viable option, I aim to cultivate a new generation of environmental leaders who are equipped to address the challenges of our time.
