ABOUT SARAH MOUNTFORD

I joined Nestlé as a Finance Graduate back in 2001, excited about starting my career working for the largest Food and Drinks manufacturer in the world, qualifying as a CIMA accountant shortly after completing the three year programme. I have enjoyed working in a huge variety of finance roles, from supporting factory teams with budgeting/forecasting whilst working in a coffee factory in Hayes, to supporting sales and marketing teams across our Confectionery portfolio of brands, from working in Planning & Reporting for our Beverage category to becoming a Project Accountant in our Corporate Finance team liaising with our global Head Office in Switzerland. Strong foundations across the Finance & Control function whilst gaining line manager experience along the way.In 2013 I chose to take my career in a different direction, moving out of Finance into the HR function and the Learning & Development team. Passionate about people development this seemed the obvious choice where I could help build finance capability in finance and non-finance teams as well as support Finance Graduates and Apprentices join the business as the Academy Champion for Finance. My remit has expanded over the years and I am delighted to have come full circle as I lead the development of our new Academy recruits alongside my support for the Finance community. I look to ignite a love of life-long learning and proudly role model this myself. I am now seen as a credible HR professional after completing my L5 L&D apprenticeship with Distinction, I am also qualified as an Insights Discovery Practitioner and the newest string to my bow, a certified Gallup Strengths coach. I feel very lucky to do a job I truly love and hope I can help others love the jobs they do!
