ABOUT SARAH MCAVERA
I have over fifteen years of professional experience in the arts as a project manager, curator, facilitator and fundraiser. I\'ve been with the Golden Thread Gallery (GTG) since 2005, where my role encompasses strategic development, fundraising, management, stakeholder engagement, curating and mentoring. Over the years I have mentored hundreds of artists and young arts professionals in developing their careers.I was editor of the Golden Thread Gallery Collective Histories of Northern Irish Art book series, and my arts writing has appeared in Circa, Irish Arts Review and CURA Magazines. I\'m a core member of the Belfast Visual Arts Forum Steering Committee and Audiences Sub Group. Recent funding successes include securing substantial funding from the Ampersand Foundation to develop the Gallery’s collection of contemporary Northern Irish art; three-year funding from the Dormant Accounts Fund for a Development & Fundraising Officer for the Gallery; Blueprint Phase II Funding from Arts & Business NI; and a two-year Respond & Reimagine grant from the Art Fund.
