I love working on solving problems, from plugging away at a new technology to get it to work, looking for logs and experiments to run to find the root of a bug, to constructing a software design on a whiteboard that will handle the sort of edge cases that I\'ve encountered while supporting software that processes thousands of orders a day.I am committed to writing high-quality code that flows logically, is well-tested, and well-documented. I pay close attention to details, a fact attested to by my code reviewees and customers at nuclear power plants that I\'ve worked with.I am a quick and eager learner. Early on, I went from not knowing Javascript to writing an application in it in under a week. At Scientech, I learned the quirks and workings of our complicated base software in a couple years. At Cimpress I have picked up entire new approaches to writing good software, as well as some languages and a variety of technologies, chief among them AWS.I have spent the past few years working in small teams, collaborating with other teams as needed to build our products and share information. I enjoy being able to hear from customers what they need and how a product suits their needs.I want to do work that makes the world a better place. I would love to do something that supports scientific research, education, or medicine/healthcare, though am definitely also open to other possibilities.
