About Sarah Lynagh

I\'ll never forget sitting in the first course I took on climate change in college and thinking, this is the greatest challenge of our time, and I need to be a part of the solution. I\'ve been following that calling since that day, and am now a Climate Change Specialist at the World Bank Group. I\'m a climate change scientist and adaptation specialist, which means my job is to ensure that communities across the world are prepared or preparing for the climate impacts that we are already seeing and those to come. I love the challenge of bridging the gap between climate science and concrete solutions to help people. My drive will always be a continued belief in our ability to make life better for the others with whom we share this planet.

   I am a Climate Change Specialist in the Advisory and Operations Unit of the Climate Change Group. I serve as the Human Development Practice Group lead for the Climate Co-Benefits (Climate Finance) Assessment Team and am the Regional Focal Point for Africa East, supporting task teams to mainstream climate change in their operations. I am developing country-specific climate risk profiles utilizing CMIP6 climate data as packaged through the World Bank\'s Climate Change Knowledge Portal. I am also supporting a Somalia Climate Change Program, including the development of a Somalia Climate Risk Report and integrated landscape modeling of climate impacts.
