ABOUT SARAH JESSL
In a world where the technological advance is rapid and critical, it is exciting for me to be contributing by exploring and supporting new ideas. I’m passionate about protecting our environment and our planet. Towards this goal I have done my PhD in the area of energy storage focusing on electrodes for batteries or fuel cells, gaining more insight into e-mobility and renewable energies, and I worked as a lab team lead at BASF exploring the effects of plastic pollution/ microplastics on our environment, adapting the needed analytical techniques and supporting the development of biodegradable alternatives. Recently I started as a managing director for teh TUM Venture lab ChemSPACE to strengthen the entrepreneurial pipeline in natural sciences and to actively support the growth of new and disruptive ideas.I‘m also working as a trainer and facilitator. I believe education is important for everyone and thus am part of the founding team of dasjungeTraining and recently founded Potential42 (https://potential42.com/) with 2 colleagues, a start-up that aims to provide missing links for access to education for everyone focusing on helping high-school students find their passion and future path. The aim is to remove barriers to education and level the playing field for a brighter and more diverse future. Topics that are very important to me are equal opportunities and gender equality & female empowerment as well as progress through technological advance and digitalization.
