ABOUT SARAH-JANE PHILLIPS
Sarah-Jane Phillips Author of Worms On Parachutes, survivor of Triple Negative Breast Cancer and Hodgkins Lymphoma, supporter of Breast Cancer Now advocate of Breast Reconstructive Surgery, Patient Supporter for Cancer Research UK, Fundraiser, and London Marathon finisher. My book Worms on Parachutes - came to fruition after I was inspired by my surgeon and medical team. It now moves readers around the world. Self published, Worms On Parachutes has only received 5* reviews on Amazon and now features as helpful reading literature in the biography section for Breast Cancer with Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support, The Cancer Book Club and C21 Healthcare magazine. It has also made it across to Australia and features in the boutique reading library at Breast Cancer Care WA in Perth.Motivated to write on two fronts:I wanted to raise funds for the hospital trust that are without doubt the inspiration for completing the book as a token of appreciation and thanks for the wonderful care I received throughout my treatment. andTo raise awareness and understanding to those faced with a diagnosis, and to those supporting a special person through the whole treatment process. My story is intended to give hope, encouragement and inspiration to others faced with life threatening illness. It inspired ladies in Western Australia to organise a Parachute jump for a local breast cancer charity. This parachute jump took place in Jurien Bay in April 2018 with 12 people jumping. This was a great opportunity to raise the awareness of this inspiring book in Australia. All skydivers had the front cover printed on the front of their T-shirts. It is a book highlighting the skill of the medical staff who looked after me and my journey from diagnosis to recovery and the emotional highs and lows faced along the way finishing with a great fund raising episode seeing me raise over by completing the London Marathon for Breast Cancer Now.
