REMOTE VOLUNTEER MEDICAL CODERTEAM FEMR | REMOTE MAY 2024 – CURRENTTeam fEMR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has an open-source electronic medical records system designed for clinicians working in environments without access to the Internet or electricity. The fEMR system has been deployed worldwide since 2014 to post-disaster environments and other very low resource areas in order to build capacity and improve continuity of care. Team fEMR and their partners use the coded data for research on the prevalence of infectious diseases and uses the data for broader analyses.• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to medical records for refugee camps on the US-Mexico border. • Apply coding guidelines use shared Google Drive for resources and Excel spreadsheets to code 100 encounters monthly.• Translate medical records from Spanish to English as needed prior to coding to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
