About Sarah Hansen

Interest in languages and cultures led to studies in English (critical literature analysis), Mandarin, French, Spanish, Sociolinguistics and a move to Beijing to work in international education and exchange. After Beijing, I entered UPenn GSE\'s Intercultural Communication MSEd program to study mitigation of breakdowns in communication in cross-cultural (esp. educational) contexts. Since grad school I have worked in e-learning positions, coordinating professional development in international education and a U.S. Department of State high school language program. I am well-suited to work for technology, education, and exchange organizations in areas of digital learning design and training/exchange management roles.

   In the Technology Department at Politico, I manage policy, regulatory, and technical software projects to ensure our products are both timely and high quality. Responsibilities include- Quarterly Planning for highest priority projects- Biweekly Planning for sprint cycle- Daily Planning to account for unplanned bugs, blockers, or other issues- Facilitating scrum ceremonies (stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, t-shirt sizing, and other meetings for engineers and product managers)- Collaborating with other project managers, product managers, and software engineers across teams- Reporting- Promoting agile methodology- Improving team processes through continuous feedback model
