ABOUT SARAH HAMILTON

I am proud to serve as the City Councillor for Ward sipiwiyiniwak in west Edmonton. I\'m passionate about building a safe, strong and prosperous city for all Edmontonians. I have a background in media and communications, and I worked as an adjunct professor, freelance journalist and public relations consultant. I also held various roles in the provincial and municipal government, where I gained valuable, hands-on experience in public service and policy making. As a city councillor I represent the city of Edmonton on the Federation of Canadian Muncipalities Board of Directors, where I advocate for our city\'s interests and priorities at the national level. I also serve as one of two Council-appointed Commisioners on the Edmonton Police Commission, where I oversee the governance and accountability of our police service. I previously chaired Urban Planning Committee and Community and Public Services Committee, and currently serve as Vice-Chair of the City Manager City Auditor Performance Evaluation Committee. I care deeply about include economic recovery and diversification, climate action and environmental stewardship, community safety and well-being, and reconciliation and inclusion. I believe that Edmonton is one of the most forward-thinking cities in Canada, with great potential to grow and influence the national conversation and I\'m excited to be one of the leaders that will help us get there.
