ABOUT SARAH GIBSON
I’m a chartered civil engineer with 13+ years’ experience in civil engineering and marine infrastructure, including 10 years focused on port infrastructure. I’ve worked across a range of sectors, supporting port authorities, developers and public bodies with the planning, design and delivery of port and coastal assets.My work has covered feasibility studies, port masterplanning, option appraisal and investment planning, as well as detailed design and delivery. This includes permanent works and temporary works design for major contractors, alongside engineering input on quay and berth infrastructure, heavy-lift requirements, dredging and wider marine civils. This includes port requirements for offshore wind, recognising the critical role ports play in connecting offshore assets with landside and enabling infrastructure.In my current role as Head of Ports, I’m focused on building a coherent ports capability that is technically robust, realistic to deliver and aligned with client needs, while supporting a collaborative team culture and consistent delivery.
