ABOUT SARAH DEMEESTERE
I am a creative problem solver who brings compassion and perseverance to my teaching artistry as an actor, director and producer. I thrive in heart-centered, passionate team-oriented environments and I bring this to my teaching as I help young artists develop their craft. I cherish the time I spend helping adolescent artists (4th-8th grade) in choosing their style and developing their voices. Honoring their unique choices is important to me. Since 2020 I have been working with children ages 6-12 in producing 16 plays each school year. This has required me to be very resourceful and creative in gathering costumes, set design, invitations, marketing and finding published materials. As an immigrant with a multicultural and multilingual perspective, I am able to connect with young people and respect their unique understanding of the world. I have experience working in a private K-12 school, summer camp, with neurodiverse children and I have also been trained in writing curriculum using the California Arts Standards (VAPA). I am seeking opportunities as a teaching artist in nonprofit organizations, K-12 and higher education. I most enjoy teaching acting, filmmaking, producing, writing, storytelling and French culture. I enjoy helping artists find their voice, listen to their intuition and be aligned with their higher self. In a group setting or individually.
