About Sarah Dalakos
BS/ME Materials Engineer currently working as a lead combustion engineer at GE Aerospace Research. I began my career in the GE Gas Power Edison Engineering Developmental Program, which allowed me to rotate through 4 alternate roles in the first two years of my career. I have past experience in materials testing and validation, manufacturing engineering, engineering design, as well as research projects with topics in semiconductors, thermodynamics, polymer science and biomaterials.

Test engineer working on both combustion testing and mechanical testing of materials for gas turbine applications. Requires front end preparation, interfacing with customers, and leading the execution of tests. In a combustion sense, this requires management of the test cells, hardware and testing documents. Verifying test cell is safe to avoid any failures, and watching many test cell parameters during test execution while directing various operators. In mechanical testing, various mechanical test rigs are utilized in order to determine the strength of material samples at alternate conditions- bend tests, tensile, compression, etc. Material analysis and reporting out of data using alternate platforms such as direct image correlation. My lab is heavily involved in the hydrogen conversion of gas turbine technology.
