ABOUT SARAH DAITCH

Mediator – Facilitator – Collaborative problem solver As an independent Chartered Mediator and facilitator, I work with sport organizations, Indigenous and local communities, companies, and governments to bridge divides across the sport, mining, energy, and workplace sectors. My focus is on helping diverse interests come together to make sound, collaborative decisions — and to chart a shared path forward.A former professional athlete on Canada’s National Cross Country Ski Team, I apply my energy and results focus to my work as a mediator, multi party facilitator, collaborative process designer and problem solver on challenging issues. I have 12 years\' professional experience in mediation and multi party collaborative process in Canada, the US and Europe, and have supported dispute resolution, situation assessment and conflict prevention initiatives in Latin America, Asia and Africa. As founder of a small consultancy business, Daitch & Associates, we work with governments, companies, international organizations, sports organizations, tribal governments and non-profits, on collaborative approaches to creating better future outcomes in sport, in the energy and extractive sectors, on social and environmental issues, and in the workplace, at home and abroad. Raised and educated in Inuit, Dene and Métis communities in northern Canada, fostering respectful and just relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada is central to my work and life. My enthusiasm for sport as a tool to empower youth lead me to found and manage a leadership development initiative for young northern women. In 2013, I was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for service to Canadians. I was a 20••••14 fellow of Action Canada, Canada’s première public policy and leadership development program for young professionals. In 2015, I was a member of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference (Study Group: Saskatchewan). In 2016, I was inducted into the Northwest Territories Sport Hall of Fame.
