As the Legal Services Director for Mid-Continent Public Library, I provide legal counsel and representation to the Library Director/CEO, Board of Trustees, and the library staff on a variety of matters, such as contracts, procedures/policies, and compliance. I have a Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have over 16 years of work experience in the legal field, including serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the Missouri Attorney General\'s Office, a Senior Associate at Lauber Municipal Law, LLC, Utilities Counselor and a City Clerk for the City of Independence, Missouri, and City Attorney for City of Blue Springs, Missouri. I have developed strong skills in courts, contract drafting, and legal issues, as well as a deep understanding of municipal law and governance. My core competencies are communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. My mission is to protect and advance the interests of the library and its customers while upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
