Oversees the effective and efficient daily operations of the Ophthalmic Imaging Department. Responsible for recruitment, providing expert level training, and mentorship for a team of imaging specialists who produce ophthalmic images using 14 imaging modalities in order to assist physicians with documentation, diagnosis, and treatment plans for North Carolinians. Monitors quality of work and ensures accurate results in a timely manner.Daily leadership responsibilities include clinic operations, compliance rounding, tiered safety huddles, SAFE reports, enforcement of policies and procedures, and responding to escalated patient, staff, and physician concerns. Meets regularly with senior leadership to discuss strategic planning, and departmental goal setting for Kittner Eye Center and satellite clinics. Assists with grant writing and justification for purchases. Researches, proposes, and manages delivery, installation, and staff training for equipment purchases- currently over prior purchases. Develops imaging protocols, training sessions, standard operating procedures, and workflows to ensure high quality results. Liaises with study coordinator, primary investigators, and research assistants on submissions and responses to the internal review board. Collaborates with vendors, biomedical engineering, and information technology support to ensure safety, data integrity, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
