About Sarah Alberts
Currently working as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the outpatient setting of UVA Health’s Children’s Hospital, Sarah uses her EMT experience to support healthcare teams of physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other PCTs to ensure excellent and efficient patient care during appointments. This clinical experience is preparing Sarah before she begins medical school in July 2025. Sarah has two and a half years of experience as a public health professional working at University Research Co, LLC (URC) assisting in the management of USAID funded malaria and family planning projects. Passionate about health equity and the intersection of social and behavior change, health and human rights, maternal and child health, and infectious diseases. Shortly after joining URC, Sarah assisted in the creation of the Junior Professional Committee, a group committed to building camaraderie amongst colleagues, career development, and advocating for junior professionals at URC. Sarah served as the Advocate of the JPC from June 2021 to August 2023.
